Main driver checklist
Bring a driving licence held for at least two years, a valid ID or passport, and a credit card in the main driver’s name for the deposit. Documents must be physical and readable. Minimum age is 21 on standard T-GO offers. Some premium categories may require more: check the vehicle page. The deposit card name must match the main driver on the contract. Keep your booking confirmation (email or PNR) offline-accessible. In high season, checks take longer — arrive with buffer before your first trip.
Foreign visitors and international permits
Non-residents usually present a recognised national licence or an international permit plus passport. Ask T-GO support before travel if unsure. If your licence is not in Latin script, an international permit helps. Keep the original national licence with it. Visas do not replace a licence. For a family second driver, expect the same requirements when booking.
On pick-up day
At hand-over, documents are checked and the deposit is held or temporarily charged. Photograph the car before leaving. Note the agreed fuel level (often full-to-full) and any written remarks. Unreported damage at departure may be charged on return. Missing documents can block hand-over even after payment. Have a plan B (T-GO airport transfer) if you arrive early without a usable credit card.
Additional drivers
Any extra driver must usually be declared and present licence and ID. Undeclared driving risks contract and insurance. Age and licence seniority also apply to second drivers. Add them at booking or pick-up, not after a roadside check. On long trips, two declared drivers reduce fatigue and stay compliant.
Common mistakes
Arriving with debit-only when credit is required for the deposit. An expired or too-recent licence. Forgetting the passport as a non-resident. Booking in one name and letting someone else drive without updating the contract. Skipping departure photos makes disputes harder.
